• works at the Buckhorn pastoral charge of the United Church of Canada

• serves part-time with the East Central Ontario regional council of the United Church around indigenous justice and respectful relationship

As a Spiritual Companion:

Rodney Smith-Merkley lives in Bobcaygeon Ontario. Rodney works at the Buckhorn pastoral charge of the united church of Canada, Wesley united is a rural congregation focussed on the practice of being a good neighbour and offering others table hospitality, and Curve Lake United Church where the focus is on integrating the teachings of Jesus with Aanishnaabe ways.  Rodney also works part time with the east central Ontario regional council of the united church around indigenous justice and respectful relationship. Rodney offers in-person spiritual accompaniment, and gathers with colleagues for group accompaniment, sometimes on a sailboat!

Rodney has been blessed to serve and learn from indigenous communities and work toward truth and reconciliation in many communities he is a part of. He balances his time as a pastor, parent, and partner. He is a peacemaker, who also enjoys being a playful adventurer! Rodney is grateful to serve on the discerning circle as a way of sharing his knowledge and experience and staying connected to the Ontario Jubilee program, where he received his training.
