As a Spiritual Companion

“I was very pleased to take part in the Jubilee program and experience the compassionate wisdom and mentoring of the leadership team. I felt very much at home with the members of my cohort of seekers who came from a variety of traditions and brought with them a wealth of life experiences. Together we shared in the co-creation of a sacred container that fostered love, life, grace and transformation. Participation in Ontario Jubilee helped me to form my vision of spiritual accompaniment. It is the gift we encounter as we walk together with another. In the words of Ram Dass, “We are all just walking each other home.”

I believe that we, each of us, are seeking the way home. Seeking the Source of who we are, who we are becoming and who we are to be. Some name this Source, God. I like to speak of Love Loving who calls us to become one with the source of our love and longing and the desire to participate with our sisters and brothers in co-creating a community that is life-giving and loving: Home.”

Paul is a life partner, parent and grandparent and has served for over 30 years as a religious and family life educator. He has many years of experience in family ministry, spiritual formation and mentoring, leadership training, school chaplaincy, interfaith/ intercultural understanding and dialogue and social justice. He is trained in Adlerian counselling psychology and holds a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership in Ministry. He has an abiding passion to honour and foster the interdependence, interconnectedness, and uniqueness of all persons in our unity and diversity.

“As I have the great privilege to walk with another seeker, I am so aware and humbled to know that I am standing on holy ground. We do not have to journey alone. I believe that we each bring a deep wisdom, compassion and desire to participate in the co-creation of the all embracing ‘sacred container’ that is Home.”
