Wildscape Adventures: Hiking the Crack Retreat

Wildscape Adventures:

Hiking the Crack Retreat

September 25-28, 2026 at Loon Lookout Cottage, French River

With Tanya Dyck Steinmann

Join us for this 4-day women’s+ retreat rooted in natural rhythms: movement and stillness, effort and ease, solitude and shared experience.

We’ll gather at a cottage in the French River region and spend four days living at a different pace; guided by weather, water, shared meals, and time on the Land. We’ll move our bodies, breathe deeply, and make space for what emerges when we step out of our usual routines and into wild places.

‍At the heart of the retreat is a day hiking the The Crack in Killarney Provincial Park. The Crack is one of the most beautiful and iconic day hikes in Ontario; with a steady climb up the white cliffs of La Cloche Mountains, a narrow rock passage, and ending in panoramic views of Killarney's many lakes. The hike is challenging in a good way and accessible to those with solid fitness and mobility. This is not about speed or proving anything. We approach it as a shared experience - supportive, steady, and attentive to one another as we move through a powerful outer landscape that often mirrors something inner.

The days that hold the hike are equally important. There will be time for swimming, paddling, sauna, rest, and being outside without an agenda. We’ll gather at times for conversation, story, and simple reflection; always offered as invitations. You are welcome to participate in ways that feel natural to you.

‍If this calls to you, take the next step.
