“This is the blessing that comes when we leave behind our aloneness,
when we gather together, when we turn toward one another.

This is the blessing that blazes among us when we speak the words strange to our ears,
when we finally listen into the chaos,
when we breathe together at last.”
                                                                                                      — Jan Richardson

Although I did not know it at the time, my journey as a spiritual companion began more than a decade ago, when I was invited to be part of a group that practiced deep, compassionate, spiritual listening without offering advice. This thread has led me to practice Centering Prayer and journaling, find a spiritual director, and join a weekly “emerging Christian” study group. I have moved from “dabbling in the Enneagram” to using it as a vital tool of personal transformation.  My mentors, both ones I have met in person and ones I have met through books and talks include Barb Dean, Richard Rohr, and Cynthia Bourgeault.

I have travelled through paths of both grief and loss and of great joy and I have learned the power of being accompanied by another on these paths. I have found healing has come by telling my stories both in words, and in creative work and by being in nature. I have felt deeply privileged to walk with others on their life paths.

I was led to be part of the Pacific Jubilee SoulGuiding Program in 2023. The many facets and deep learning of this program enriched my own spiritual life and made me fully appreciate the joy and honour of accompanying another. I completed the program in the spring of 2025 and have started my practice of spiritual companionship for others.

In the wise presence of the Holy —Holy Silence, Holy Mother Earth, Holy Presence, Great Mystery, Sacred One — I offer spacious, open-hearted, compassionate listening.  As Jan Richardson says, it is a blessing to be able to “turn toward one another”,  connect heart-to-heart, and “breathe together at last.”

I look forward  to connecting with any who come to me either by video, by phone, or in person in Prince George.
