Summer Retreat - Looking in- Looking Out-Seeing Me- Seeing All - June 11-14, 2026

Summer Retreat:

Looking in- Looking Out- Seeing Me- Seeing All

Thursday June 11th to Sunday, June 14th

Nurturing a time of Inner Growth

Prairie Jubilee invites all Jubilee students and graduates to a 3-day, in-person retreat at Sandy Saulteaux Spiritual Center in Beausejour, Manitoba. A contemplative gathering of kindred souls. Our retreat time will include wisdom sharing, movement, art, and soul growth practices. All who attend will also take part in an indoor labyrinth walk.

“The “Overview Effect” is a profound cognitive shift experienced by astronauts viewing the Earth from space.”

- Frank White – Author & Space Philosopher

During the Artimis II mission that took place in April of this year. The crew expressed an awe-inspiring sense of wonder, a deep connection to humanity, and a new appreciation for the planet’s fragility.

We here on Earth were privileged to experience their photos taken from afar showing a beautiful planet with no borders. The experience touched something deeply human within the space travellers and left us all with a sense of expansiveness.

And yet, back in daily life, the view is different. We encounter division, animosity, fear and despair. Both experiences are reality. The larger view and the close-up view.

How do we navigate this earthly time and the large spiritual terrain in which we live?

What wisdom do we need to meet a changing world?

Can we maintain our sense of wonder while staying connected to what is happening each day?  And in all this, I must include my Self.

Cuban born author Kat Armas asks us to “Dare to dream of a reality entirely brand new: disrupted, shaken, free.”

In our retreat time we will become explorers of our inner spiritual world. We will use the Holy Ideas of the Enneagram to reveal the larger reality of the world and our place in it, fully understanding how we each have a role to play. A role in the unfolding of the greater spirituality and a role in the healing of our world.

RETREAT LEADERSHIP:

Cheryl Kinney Matheson is a graduate of Prairie Jubilee (Cycle 2), a member of Spiritual Directors International, and an Ordained Minister within the United Church of Canada, now retired. She has been a Prairie Jubilee Instructor since Cycle 6 and learns from each Cycle and from each participant. Cheryl has served congregations in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario for 28 years and attests to the way that Prairie Jubilee has transformed her pastoral ministry, enabling her to speak about the inner life and offer the teachings of the enneagram and spiritual practices within her congregation and community.

Jennifer Desrosiers was introduced to the enneagram in 2013 by her Spiritual Director. In 2020, She graduated from Prairie Jubilee which inspired her to want to explore more about the enneagram as it intrigued in her a deeper understanding of herself and others. In the summer of 2023, she completed Enntrain: Inspirited and Embodied Enneagram Training Program and it reinforced in her that she wanted to become a teacher which led her to join the leadership with Prairie Jubilee in 2024.

Dale Bially has worked extensively with the enneagram in his since 1993. Under the guidance of his mentors Carol Ann Gotch and David Walsh (students of Bob Ochs), he completed the Enntrain: Inspirited and Embodied Enneagram training program in 2012 and began teaching workshops and study groups with Inscapes Centre for Enneagram Studies. In 2012 he began working with the leadership team of Prairie Jubilee, to help train spiritual directors and guide other seekers find the truth of whom they are and how to live differently in our world.
