The Monk Archetype in the Modern World: A Day of Prayer with our Inner Monk

A retreat day with Carol Ann Gotch

August 16, 2025

Retreat day runs from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

Imbedded within each of us is an inner adversary, known by many names, a contrary thought or feeling, a desire pulling in opposite direction - in whatever form, our day will be to stand guard in prayer.

Prayer is a way of small steps. repeated regularly (since what moves in one direction can change just as easily back again). Small steps lead to the inner monk’s admonition, ‘pray always’.

Our day together will be attempting to leave traces on our soul so we will remember to return home to the heart, to prayer, often.

Chanting, visualization and contemplation will be our focus during the day, with our main aim, to imprint notions so deeply within, as to be written on our hearts as a prayer shawl.

This event is offered through the Inscapes Centre for Enneagram Studies.

REGISTRATION FEE: $200 + GST. lunch and a light supper are included.
