Valentine's Day

What if we replaced “Be mine” with
I see you and this is what I am loving in you.

What if we replaced “Be my Valentine” with
tell me what opens and touches your heart.

Tell me what you love about your life.
Tell me how someone else’s love for you
changed things.

Tell me about the friends you have loved,
the pet, the tree, the book,
the landscape, the teacher, the grandparent,
the dreams, the sounds,
the imaginings and mysteries ... inside and out.

Tell me what opens your heart to the world.
Tell me what makes your heart weep for the world.
Tell me where your heart gives you hope.
