A New Beginning
As we entered into the beauty of Autumn, Cheryl, Dale and I find ourselves at the beginning of a new “DOH”, welcoming eight bright individuals into Cycle 13. I find myself feeling a renewed sense of wonder and anticipation as we begin again.
Each of these souls has come with a sense of longing - a desire to become more self-aware, to explore their own interior life and to deepen their understanding of what spirituality means in their own lives. As mentors, there is something deeply moving about witnessing the courage of those who have responded to the call. We are also moved to see how curiosity has led them toward questions they may have carried quietly within themselves for some time.
As leaders, we had discerned postponing this cycle. We patiently listened to what was stirring within each of ourselves and listened to each other. We came to the conclusion the importance of moving forward with this group as there was a longing and a call within ourselves. The question arose: “What deepening will happen within us through this time around?” We are reminded that this work is never simply about directing and guiding others. It is also an invitation for us to continue to look inward and to remain open to what we do not know yet, and we know very well that we are transformed by the people who share this path with us.
And so, together, we have begun to step into this unknown, trusting in the mystery and the unearthing that await us with the hope that we will find each other along the way through our desire for community, our curiosity, shared stories and deep listening.
A new circle has formed and a new journey begins and after our first weekend together, Cheryl, Dale and I are grateful to walk alongside these beautiful people who answered their own call. We look forward to discovering what will come alive in the sacred space we create together.
